Join Us Out On The Green In May!
Dust off your clubs and join us out on the green to get your business noticed with the West Shore Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Golf Outing! The outing will be held this year on Monday, May 1st at Armitage Golf Club in Mechanicsburg. Members of the Chamber, as well as the community, are invited to play in this event which features breakfast, a 9:00 am shotgun start, 18 holes of golf, and lunch. In addition to a fun day on the golf course, attendees will enjoy the chance to win prizes while networking with their fellow golfers.
This year we will continue to donate a portion of the event proceeds to one of our Chamber nonprofits, YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County (YWCA CCC). YWCA CCC has supported 8,697 community members through our programs and services. YWCA CCC is the sole provider of crisis intervention and advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault & rape for all of Cumberland County. All of our crisis services are free to survivors and their non-offending family members. Beginning in 2021, we also took on the task of handling crisis services for human trafficking survivors in Cumberland County in partnership with YWCA Harrisburg, law enforcement, the district attorney’s office, and Child Advocacy Centers. We also provide a 24-hour sexual violence hotline, school, and community-based prevention and awareness programs, counseling, Sexual Violence Protection Orders petitions, and support groups for survivors. We support survivors at hospitals and emergency rooms, at court, at the DA’s office, at police investigations, at the Child Advocacy Center, and anywhere they need us. YWCA CCC uses an empowerment model to assist victims in the process of recovery from the trauma of sexual assault, utilizing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive methods of care of counseling. We also operate Little Wonders Preschool to provide our community with quality early childhood education in a supportive and nurturing environment for our littlest learners. It’s now available for $100/individual golfer or $375/foursome with additional packages available that include a tee sign in addition to your foursome for $400.
