Learn Hands Only CPR & Stop The Bleed Training With Us
Join us for this members-only training course including Hands Only CPR and Stop The Bleed training on July 30th from 11:15 AM – 1:30 PM. Lunch will be provided while Penn State Health Holy Spirit Trauma Services presents. This course follows the program that was developed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and the Hartford Consensus group. The program is approximately 60 minutes in length and teaches the basic principles of bleeding control and tourniquet use until trained emergency providers arrive. This part of the course is a combination of lecture, video, demonstration, and hands on skill stations using direct pressure, gauze packing, dressings, and tourniquets. No prior first aid training is needed and is designed for the general public.
Afterwards the group will take turns networking with the other attendees and learning Hands Only CPR from the American Heart Association – Pennsylvania. Be the difference for someone you love. In a cardiac arrest, every second counts and it can happen anywhere, often while at home, work, or play. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival. Each year, more than 350,000 EMS-assessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States. The American Heart Association believes anyone can learn the simple steps to save a life, and everyone should.
