West Shore Chamber of Commerce

businessSPOTLIGHT: Harrisburg Senators Baseball Club

What services or products does your business offer?
In a general sense: we offer a fun night out for everyone! To define that better, we have many different ticket options to come out to a game for individuals, groups as small as 20 people, or companies bringing out as many as a thousand people. With our suites or tickets with food packages, we host birthday parties, retirement parties, and much more. Plus, we offer fun and unique advertising opportunities abound.

How does your business separate itself from your competition?
We pride ourselves on being affordable, family fun. We cater to and offer something for everyone whether it be a night out for you and your family or friends, or it’s a company treating as many as one-thousand people out to a night of fun. Oh, we also have professional baseball! The future of Major League Baseball starts at places like FNB Field.

How do you see your business growing in the future?
We’d like to continue to grow our community impact and involvement; we see ourselves growing our local relationships. We hope our ballpark is seen more and more as a social environment. The games are, of course, important, but we aim to grow as a space for local communities to come together.

How does your business get involved in the community?
We host a Community Organization of the Game to give local non-profits the spotlight in front of our fans. We volunteer and donate to an array of organizations in Central PA. The fundraisers we offer, too, help to raise tens of thousands of dollars each year for local organizations. 2022 was also the first year of our Home Field Makeover partnership with FNB to rejuvenate local Little League fields. Our staff will work every fall to give area kids the playing fields they deserve.

How long has your business been a member of the Chamber?
We’ve been a member since July 2008.

How has Chamber membership been beneficial to your business?
The Chamber provides wonderful opportunities to meet countless great people here in Central PA. The business connections that come later are why any business joins a chamber of commerce, but the relationships formed on an individual level have provided such a benefit. That’s why we so enjoy going to Chamber events and even hosting some, too, here at the ballpark.

While we are, first and foremost, a professional baseball team, we want the community to recognize us as so much more than that. We’re a business partner; we want to help your business grow through traditional methods like advertising and through a little less traditional methods like fun days out at the ballpark to reward your employees and keep them thriving. We want families and friends to come and make amazing memories. One word that perhaps best describes City Island as a whole: unique. This is a wonderful place you can’t find anywhere else. I hope that when you come to our games and sit in our seats, your troubles, worries and stresses leave you. At risk of sounding tacky or cliché, we here at the Senators offer a bit of an escape from reality—even if it is for just a couple of hours. We hope to see you soon.
