Business Women’s Forum Is Next Month, Will You Be Joining Us?
Business Women’s Forum (BWF) is only 3 weeks away and we will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary! The event will take place on Wednesday, May 15th at the High Center at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg. BWF is the largest one-day professional development conference for women in the central Pennsylvania region. This event is hosted by the Carlisle Area Chamber and West Shore Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation. Our mission is to provide opportunities for business women of all professional levels to network, create business contacts, and develop additional leadership skills in a motivational and supportive environment.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Leigh Hurst, Founder of the Feel Your Boobies® Foundation. Leigh was never meant to start the Feel Your Boobies® Foundation. In fact, she never thought much about breast cancer at all. Until she was diagnosed with it in 2004. She was 33 years old. Leigh’s Keynote Address will be “What if Today is YOUR day?” where she will focus on how small changes can have a BIG impact in your life.
The Feel Your Boobies Foundation needs your gently used bras! We all have those bras that lay at the bottom of the drawer that you keep telling yourself you have to get rid of. Instead of throwing them away, put them to good use and donate them to Feel Your Boobies! Bring your gently used bras to the Business Women’s Forum and find the Feel Your Boobies table to drop them off. Why do we need BRAS? Bras Across the Bridge is the Feel Your Boobies Foundation signature fundraising event. Bras Across the Bridge celebrates breast cancer survivors, brings awareness to breast health, and raises money to support the foundation. Survivors walk across the Walnut Street Bridge in Harrisburg lined with bras and walk down to the Harrisburg Beach Club for dinner, dancing, and celebrating. We need over 1,000 bras! With the help of the participants, donors, and our sponsors, Bras Across the Bridge provides life-saving funds to the Feel Your Boobies Foundation.
