And The 2023 Luminary Awards Nominee Finalists Are…

We’re excited to introduce you to our Luminary Shining Star and Visionary Award Nominee Finalists for this year’s event! The Luminary Awards Luncheon, taking place on September 7th, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill, will honor the following extraordinary female professionals nominated for the two awards. Our Women in Business Roundtable Committee created this prestigious event and voted in a blind review process of all the applicants. The two award recipients will be announced during the program at this luncheon. A portion of the total event proceeds will benefit a Chamber nonprofit of the award recipient’s choice.

Congratulations to the following chosen nominees who were nominated by their peers because of their excellence in their work environment and the community:

Shining Star Award Nominees

Lauren E. Fenner, CPA – Senior Manager, Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz
Lauren has over eight years of public accounting experience. She is responsible for planning, performing, and supervising audit and review engagements for nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and school districts. She also provides tax services to nonprofit organizations.

Lauren received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Lebanon Valley College. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). She serves on the PICPA South Central Local Connection Committee, and she also volunteers as Board Treasurer for the West Shore Chamber of Commerce.

In 2020, Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts named Lauren a Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Awards Woman to Watch honoree in recognition of her commitment and contributions to her respective STEM field.

Lauren’s Chosen Nonprofit Beneficiary is Girls on the Run Mid State PA

Corinne Mitchell – Business Manager, Shamrock Settlement Services, LLC
Corinne is a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College and is a Harrisburg native. She is a mom to a beautiful baby boy named Roman. Before being in the title industry, Corinne was an insurance rep for a broker company. In 2020, she started working for her mother, Annette Myers, at Keystone Land Transfer, a title company and has since become the manager of Shamrock Settlement Services, which is another title company Annette has opened up. She is a notary and is now a title agent. Corinne is an integral member of Shamrock Settlement Services, as she services the account from when the sale agreement is executed to closing time. Her favorite part of her job is working hard to make the dreams of homeowners come true and being able to do it with the support of her mother! When not working at Shamrock, Corinne spends time with friends and family. She may be curled up with a good book as she enjoys reading historical and fantasy fiction.

Mary J. Murphy – Director of Development, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region
Mary Murphy has extensive experience in all facets of marketing, communications, business, and consulting for non-profits and Fortune 500 companies. She is a strong team player with high integrity, an energetic self-starter with excellent written and oral communications skills who successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively interfaces with all levels of management who treats everyone with an equal amount of respect.

Mary’s Chosen Nonprofit Beneficiary is Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region

Emily Runyeon – Portfolio Manager II, Pennian Bank
Emily is a Portfolio Manager at Pennian Bank where she actively manages a commercial loan portfolio of $150 million in loan commitments. In conjunction, she also builds and retains customer relationships, works directly with clients on loan servicing, new products, new loan requests, and collecting financials, prepares term sheets, and formulates written recommendations for short- and long-term repayment potential for the prospective individual or company.

Emily has been working in the Banking industry since 2018 and has successfully navigated through several different positions with a concentration in credit/commercial lending. Emily has assisted companies obtain the necessary funding to begin or expand their business in the Capital Region through commercial lending in the form of Commercial Mortgages, Commercial Term Loans, Lines of Credit, Construction Loans, and many more.

Emily was born and raised in Hummelstown, PA and now resides in Middletown with her Goldendoodle, Jackson. Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a focus in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University in 2018. She has always had a passion for being present within her community and helping others. Recently, she qualified to serve on the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg’s Junior Board advocating for women empowerment, eliminating racism and creating a safe place for young women and children to reside. Outside of her professional life, Emily enjoys staying active. She loves vacationing with her family, biking, reading and play on a “fun” trio bowling league.

Visionary Award Nominees

Brooke Butler Wagner – Owner, Playa Bowls & Executive Director, MLB Foundation
Brooke is a Carlisle native, she graduated from Carlisle High School in 2002, attending Indiana University of PA briefly, she then graduated from HACC with a degree in Humanities Language and the Arts. She has been the Executive Director of the Mark L Butler Foundation since 2013, where she has reached thousands of kids through their efforts. Brooke is also the proud owner of Playa Bowls Carlisle and Playa Bowls Camp Hill and soon-to-be Playa Bowls Harrisburg. In addition to her professional titles, she volunteers significantly with the Carlisle Kiwanis Club and is a board member with the Cal Ripken Sr Foundation. Brooke resides in Carlisle with her husband Josh, their three children, Ryder, Reagan, and Everly, and their bundle of fur babies. If you can’t find her at her son’s baseball games or her daughter’s dance competitions you can see her at the Harrisburg Senators or the University Of Maryland cheering on the Terps Football or Basketball teams.

Kate Deringer Sallie – Co-Founder & Principal, Pillar+Aught
Kate Deringer Sallie is optimism and strength. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better, more qualified advocate for you and your best interests. Kate takes a big picture look at every situation and aligns the details accordingly. This is especially important as an expert in lending law and business reorganization.

With an extensive background in bankruptcy and corporate finance law, Kate has notable experience in Delaware representing debtors, creditors, lenders, and trustees in numerous mega-bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations. She has also represented debtors and secured creditors, including banks and other lending institutions, in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases, sales, structured liquidations, restructurings, and other alternatives to bankruptcy. Kate has deep experience in creditors’ rights, loan workouts, and commercial lending transactions, and is well versed in all areas of corporate law and commercial transactions relevant to your business.

The Penn State University Dickinson School of Law graduate is also a frequent speaker on lending litigation and the subject of business reorganization. She continues her involvement at her alma mater by serving as a practitioner instructor. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), and the Turnaround Management Association. Kate currently serves as co-chair of the Board of Directors for the IWIRC Greater Philadelphia Network. Kate is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of Delaware, the District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the District and Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Kate has been honored as a 2013 Women of Influence, a 2015 Select Lawyer for Susquehanna Valley, a Central Pennsylvania Business Journal “Forty under 40 award” recipient in 2016, and the PA Bankers Champion of Women award winner in 2018. Kate was named Best Lawyers’ 2022 Lawyer of the Year for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and was included on the Power 30 List for Law and Lobbyists in Central Pennsylvania for 2022.

Amy Rote – President & CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region
Amy Rote is the Chief Executive Officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region (BBBSCR), an evidence-based youth-empowered mentoring organization. Starting with the agency in 2013 as Vice President of Programs, she has successfully grown the agency’s outreach in its five-county service area. Rote’s dedication to helping young people in need of mentorship is evident. She designed and launched Grow Big, Grow Well, a health and wellness education curriculum, and championed Beyond School Walls, the career and workforce development program that matches high school students with mentors from local companies. Rote also introduced Bigs in Blue, a national Big Brothers Big Sisters initiative that matches youth with active-duty law enforcement personnel who serve as mentors. Under her guidance, BBBSCR’s Bigs In Blue has grown to be the second-largest program in the nation. Appointed to Chief Executive Officer in 2021, Rote launched an Innovation award-winning program called Youth Rise: Stand Together, a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion focused career readiness program. Leading the organization to receive the 2021 Quality Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Harrisburg’s Simply the Best in 2022. Rote graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in therapeutic recreation and recreational therapy. She also has a Master of Education in public health education and promotion. Prior to joining BBBSCR, Rote served as an adjunct therapist for the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and a certified therapeutic recreational specialist for Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

Amy’s Chosen Nonprofit Beneficiary is Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region

Patty Sibbach – Co-Owner, Precision Training Concepts/Perry Strength & Fitness, Precision Wellness
Patty Sibbach is the co-owner of Precision Training Concepts, LLC, Central Pa’s largest private personal training company, and Perry Strength & Fitness, a membership-based fitness center in Perry County. She is also the co-owner of Precision Wellness, a new health & beauty studio which specializes in educating clients on the benefits of aesthetic, esthetic, and massage services.
Patty spent over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry educating physicians on the benefits of therapies in cardiovascular, diabetes, and women’s health before pivoting full-time to her health & fitness companies. A Harrisburg native, Patty attended Shippensburg University on an athletic scholarship and returned to her community where she spent several years coaching youth sports. In 2012, she saw the need for a highly personalized and educational personal training program and opened PTC with her husband, Bryan. PTC now has two locations and specializes in corporate fitness, PT, and small group training. Patty has remained active in the community having volunteered her time in various capacities including the American Heart Association, The Salvation Army, Girls on the Run, Feel Your Boobies, Real Men Wear Pink, and Midwest Food Bank-Pa.

She and her husband moved to Perry County in 2020 and saw the need for a community-based fitness center. They opened Perry Strength & Fitness in 2021 and it quickly impacted the community with positive health & wellness classes and initiatives. Patty continues to expand her fitness & health vision with the opening of the Studios at Perry to include private yoga and pilates and has future plans of opening a student-athlete training facility.

Patty’s Chosen Nonprofit Beneficiary is Midwest Food Bank Pennsylvania

Lynn Stickler – Vice President Relationship Management, Members 1st Federal Credit Union
Lynn Stickler is Vice President Relationship Management at Members 1st Federal Credit Union. In this role, she is the pivotal point of contact with solutions for both business and consumers and ensures member awareness and education for all of the services and products of the credit union. Prior to joining M1st four years ago, she was Senior Account Manager at the Central Penn Business Journal for over 20 years. She currently serves on the board of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce and D.R.E.A.M Partnership as well as an active committee member for Midwest Foodbank and CAEDC’s Membership & Engagement Committee. She grew up in Western Pennsylvania, attended Penn State University, and is married to James Stickler for over 30 years. They have two adult children and enjoy spending time together with their two precious granddaughter’s Eleanor and Camryn.
