Entry Level Phlebotomist

You will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
* Answer phones, greet donors, and ensure the safety of donors and our team
* Screen new and repeat donors, take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results
* Use our Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation
* Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures
* Be available for our donors, which includes working a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays
Skills and qualifications:
* Skilled in venipuncture and skin puncture, ensuring minimal discomfort to donors
* Proficient in processing and handling specimens with care, following laboratory testing procedures
* Accurate and diligent in maintaining and updating donor records and test results
* Experienced in operating sterilization equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety of laboratory materials
* Adheres to quality control protocols and safety guidelines to prevent errors and maintain standards
* Engages positively with donors, providing information and support during the donation process
* Actively participates in initiatives to improve processes and procedures at the plasma center
* Capable of performing plasma collection efficiently and safely
* Knowledgeable in basic laboratory testing and biological sample handling
* Provides excellent customer service, ensuring donor satisfaction and retention
* Works collaboratively with team members to meet center goals and maintain operational efficiency
* Committed to upholding safety procedures to protect donors and staff from potential hazards
As this level you will apply basic analytical methods and operational processes to your work, following well-defined standard operating procedures. With a high school diploma and possibly formal certifications, you will tackle a variety of operational processes and resolve straightforward technical problems. Your role is a critical entry point in the technical support structure, requiring some working experience. In this role, errors are minimal and swiftly addressed, minimizing any impact. Your communication will primarily be with your immediate team, focusing on clear and simple information exchange.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will answer phones, and greet and focus on our donors, while ensuring the safety of donors and our team.
· You will screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
· You will use our Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
· You will help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company approved procedures.
· You will be there for our donors, which includes working a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays.
What you bring to Takeda:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
· Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
· Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
· Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
· Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
· 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful
